Event Details

Why has Africa failed to enjoy the fruits of the globalisation of the past quarter century, whilst regions such as SE Asia and India have enjoyed a rapid growth in prosperity? Is aid the answer - or the problem? What can be learned from comparing countries such as Ghana and Malaysia, who were on an economic par when they achieved independence fifty years ago, but now have vastly differing economies?

Examining factors from the importance of political stability, leadership and good governance, to trade, investment and aid policies at regional, national and global levels, our panel will consider: what will it take to set Africa on the path to stable and sustainable economic growth?

Our panel of speakers will include Firoz Rasul, President of the Aga Khan University.
